Richard Godfrey
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, MTV EMA Richard Godfrey has been Executive Producer of The MTV EMA since 1996.
As Executive Producer, Godfrey leads one of the biggest music awards ceremonies in the world. Known as the 'music Oscars', this prestigious ceremony continues to impress in terms of the quality of the event and the calibre of its artists. Godfrey oversees all areas of the show including the production team, the stage set, artist appearances, scripts, and style of the show.
In his previous role as Senior Vice President, MTV Networks International (MTVNI) Content and Music, Richard Godfrey oversaw all programming and production shared by all MTV channels outside the US, including a daily entertainment news service, movie programming, documentaries, specials, programme development, live music and special events.
In addition Godfrey has produced events and concerts with many of the worlds biggest music stars, including Robbie Williams, Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Muse, Kings of Leon and many more.
Godfrey started his broadcasting career in Radio with stints at LBC and Capital before moving into television where credits include The Word and The Big Breakfast for Channel 4 UK.
Godfrey holds a BA (Hons) in History from Bristol University.
